Not a big boy

It is starting to get cold here. Oh how I miss the sun!! I shouldn't complain because it hasn't been THAT bad, but I am just a baby about cold weather:) We took Parker to the zoo a couple of weeks ago when it was very warm. He loves "Nemo" and everytime we go to the zoo, he has to see Nemo and Dory. And yes, I have a "leash" for my kid. Do not judge me. For those of you who know Parker, this is a safety issue. Anyways, Jer did very well at the competition. They placed 3rd overall, and he was bummed about it but what do you do. I guess the other team was a pretty crappy team, so their scores were not the highest because well everyone should have beat them. So that is why they placed 3rd. They could still make the "wild card" spot. I guess we'll see. His semester ends in a month. Crazy that we are halfway there! Time flies by way too fast:) Parker has decided that being a big boy is too much work. He is no longer in his "big boy" bed. He was not taking naps and playing with his toys instead. He is too young to not need naps so the crib went back up! Plus, I need a little rest time. I have a funny story from yesterday. We were not feeling well, so Jer and Parks went home after Sacrament mtg. I had to stay to teach my Primary class because there was no one that could do it. Anyways, our lesson was on fasting and there were stories about how when people are sick the ward might fast or etc. As we were getting ready to leave, I told the class that I was not going to be going into Sharing Time with them because I was going home. I told them I wasn't feeling well and I expected them to behave well without me. One of my kids (he has Aspberger's) came and gave me a hug and said "I'm sorry". I said "oh you were well behaved today". He said, "no I'm sorry you don't feel well". I said "oh thank you". And then he looked at me and said "I am going to fast for you since you don't feel good". I was like oh my gosh, they really do listen! That seriously made my day! I really love those kids. I am reading "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" again. I love that story! I have a list of books I am wanting to read. I love reading!

I think Parker's little leash is cute- I love the monkey! I teach a boy with aspbergers too- he is one of the more well behaved kids in my wild primary class!
